Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Tonite Gonzalez-Collins is an American-Mexican sportscaster. She's an ESPN anchor for news and also hosts SportsNation at times. She was hired by ESPN in the year 2016. She is the daughter of the television reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta was bilingual from age nine. Her skill was instrumental in her landing her first position as production assistant for Univision Miami at which time she assisted the production of programs including Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. In the following years, she was hired by the CBS affiliate located in St. Petersburg employed her as a reporter for sports. Her move into Rio Grande Valley in 2009 to become a reporter at KNVO TV 48 Univision. Spanish channels KNVO TV 48 Univision, and Fox2 News. The reporter covered stories about illegal immigration as well as drug trafficking along the Texas and Mexico the border. She worked as a news reporter for KNVO TV 48 Univision, the Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 Univision and Fox2 News. Anchor duties for sports or weather were frequent requests. Then she anchor and wrote at Univision's Dallas affiliate Deportes 23 where she was granted more responsibilities. She did pieces on MLB's ALDS ALCS and World Series the Dallas Cowboys the NBA postseason and the NBA Finals FC Dallas and the Dallas Stars. The Univision 23 channel also had her own local sports program Accion Deportiva Extra, on which she acted as anchor. In addition, she was the host for the morning show of Despierta America Deportes. The anchor also worked as anchor of the sports segment for Primer Impacto, a magazine program on the UniMas Network and Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta Collins' parents were originally from Veracruz Mexico. In the past, they relocated into Mexico City where she was born on November 22 1985. She also has a sister. The family moved in 1992 to Mexico for the US and settled in Miami. She divorced her parents shortly thereafter and, in 1995, she married an naval designer by the name of Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo was diagnosed with kidney cancer. At the end of June 2006, she spent a week with her sister at Canton Ohio. The older Collins girl was working there. Antonietta was at the end of her senior year in high school however, she was very aware of her professional goals. She went to Mount Union University to see if it was a good fit for her. It turned out that she loved the school and they were offering the major she was looking for. She completed her schooling and was accepted into the University to pursue a degree in Media studies. Mark Bergmann was her professor and also the head of WRMU and WRMU, which she is a part of. They developed a close friendship. Mark Bergmann inspired her to be confident, and his love of journalism had a profound impact on her and she, in turn, was determined to fulfill the expectations of him and not disappoint him.
